The spring projects are well on there way. With the ice going off the river and lakes so fast there was no need to do our annual dock push. Bill was able to put the docks in place without moving them through the bridge. This saved a lot of work which allowed us the time to build an additional ramp to the joined dock.
The boys have been busy helping me rake up truck loads of leaves and fallen branches. You wouldn't beleive how many trips around the camp they "had" to take in order to get the job done. Whether it was to find the right rake or to get the right shovel it was definetely too many for me to keep track of. Landon and Carter have already started scouring the shorelines in search for crayfish...and so it begans, the season of me finding buckets of species beside my doorway...the joys of having little boys!
We wish you all a wonderful spring and are looking forward to seeing you soon!

With Fall shut down completed, we are able to step back and take in all of the great times we have had over the 2011 season. We have had many, many laughs and went through more than a few posts of coffee in early morning light. We have truly enjoyed visitng with all of you.
Shut down was a lot of hard work. We were fortunate that the weather held out for us, as we ran late in our season having a closing date of Oct 31. Our resident moose hunts were successful. This year Bill was unable to participate in the majority of the beaver trapping, however, Rick trapped a total of 55.
Landon and Carter are continuing to succeed in keeping us extremely busy and we are all enjoying spending more time together, the boys are at a really fun age. We are all anxiously awaiting the snow to fly so we can began our winter fun. We are anticipating a lof of snow machining, sliding, bomb fires and yes of course...Ice Fishing!
We hope you have all enjoyed your Fall thus far and may it lead into a beautiful winter and holiday season.

Giving the amount of snow fall this year and the cold temps, it is all going
relatively quick. The river is open and Bruce Lake has very little ice.
With the winds and rain tonight it should be out by morning. The mouth
of Pakwash Lake is open, you can almost get through to Chukuni River.
Everything is lining up for a great opener!

Rick took Landon and Carter out for the first boat ride of the season. Breaking ice is one of the kids favorite things to do in the spring...I think it is one of Granpa's favorites too!
